The guide introduces "Native Share," a sharing method that allows referrers to share offers using any mobile app, including previously unsupported ones like Instagram. As well as how to test and setup Native Share.
What is Native Share?
Native share is a share method. It makes sharing easier by allowing referrers to share using any app on their mobile, including Instagram:

Native share works across both iOS and Android.
Why should I test native share?
-
It makes it easier for your customers to share on mobile. We have seen it deliver anywhere from a 5% - 15% increase in share rate and overall conversion.
-
It means customers can share using any app on their phone, including apps that weren’t previously supported (e.g Instagram).
-
It means you can use the sentiment analysis of the share message feature. More details here.

FAQs
I noticed there are two types of native share, what's the difference?
-
Native share is as we've described in the article. It allows referrers to easily share using any app on their phone
-
Native share with message capture: this is the same as the standard version of native share, but also gives referrers the option to leave a sharing message for their friend. With some clients, we have seen this increase the purchase rate - the more personalised share message means the referee is more likely to engage with the referral offer

What about link share?
We would recommend removing link share and testing native share instead - see the test plan above.
I've run an experiment testing 'native share' and 'native share message capture' and there is no difference in conversion, which should I use?
We would recommend using 'native share message capture' as there are future developments planned for this feature that will add extra value
I haven't seen a positive result when testing native share what can I do?
-
Try testing the following:
-
Ensure name share is in position 1 and native share is in position 2
-
Try testing the other variant of native share (i.e native share message capture or native share)
-
Try changing the default share message to 'Tell me the best thing about brand'
-
I have run an experiment with native share and the share rate is up a lot but the purchase rate has fallen.
-
Sometimes, we do see this behaviour. As long as overall conversion is up then it is fine. However, if overall conversion is level or down then there are a couple of things we would recommend testing:
-
Ensure name share is in position 1 and native share is in position 2
-
Try testing the other variant of native share (i.e native share message capture or native share)
-
Try changing the default share message to 'Tell me the best thing about brand'
-
What's the default share message with native share?
-
The default share message is blank for native share. We have seen this perform best in testing. However, it is worth experimenting with this. You can change this in the 'Referee invited by link' section of the preview page

Are there any restrictions with native share?
The only restriction is that it can't be used on desktop.
Does native share work for both iOS and Android?
