About the Mention Me integration

Put advocacy data at the heart of your core CDP so you can drive more value from your base by nurturing and retaining your biggest fans.

Our integration lets you

• Grow your marketing database. Send opt-ins / contacts in real-time to mParticle

• Easily activate Mention Me data across various downstream systems and marketing tools integrated with mParticle, such as email marketing platforms, ad networks, and CRM systems

• Enhance the performance of other marketing channels by using referral data to segment and target high-value customers

Prerequisites

• mParticle 
  • You would need to have the ability to create Access Credentials to use for the setup of the Mention Me integration
  • You will need to know the name of your GDPR Consent Purposes you use for email marketing opt-ins 
    
    
• Mention Me - You will need access to the Mention Me platform (If you do not have access, reach out to your Mention Me CSM or request a support request here)

Step 2. Add Mention Me Feed Input to mParticle

1. Login to mParticle with access to add Inputs
   
   
2. If you have more than 1 workspace, select the main workspace where you store all your customer data
   
3. Click on Setup -> Inputs -> Add Feed Input
   
   
   
   
   
4. Select Mention Me from the drop-down list 
   • If you cannot find Mention Me from the list, select Custom Event
     
     
     
     
5. Set the following and press Save:
   • The Configuration Name
   • Feed to Active
   • Permissions to Create & Update Profiles
     
     
     
     
6. Copy the following information as you will need it in Step 2 and press Close:
   • Server to Server Key
   • Server to Server Secret
     
     

Step 2. Set up the integration in Mention Me

Now, complete the following procedure to set up the integration in Mention Me:

1. Login to the Mention Me platform, Click Connect to begin the setup process
   
   
   
   
2. Agree to the Terms and Conditions to allow Mention Me to transfer data to mParticle on your behalf (If applicable. If you have already done this, then this will be skipped).
   
   
3. Click New authentication
   
   
   
   
4. Name your Authentication. If you have multiple mParticle Accounts, name the Authentication for the specific Accounts so that you can recognise it easily. Or you can leave the default
   
   
5. Enter the following information, which you collected in Step 1 and select Save
   • API Key
   • API Secret
     
     
6. Enter the name of the GDPR consent purpose category you wish the opt-ins that Mention Me sends to be assigned to in mParticle. You find out more about consent purposes here
   
   
   Note: Mention Me captures opt-ins during the referee journey or at post purchase for a specific newsletter sign-up offer
   
   
7. Select the country(s) you want to sync to your mParticle account 

   Top Tip: Depending on which countries you use mParticle in, you can select to only send data from specific Mention Me enabled countries

   
   
   

   
   
8. Click Connect to finalise the setup and a message will be shown confirming that the integration has been completed.

From this point, Mention Me events and contacts will start syncing to your mParticle account and you can start to use Mention Me data in mParticle to sync to other downstream systems.
