To maintain security, Love2Shop rotates its API secret every 12 months. When it’s time to update your credentials, you'll receive an email from Love2Shop containing a one-time link to your new secret key. To ensure a seamless reward experience for your customers, it’s important to update this secret promptly in the Mention Me platform. In this guide, we’ll walk you through the simple steps to securely update your Love2Shop API secret, so reward delivery continues without interruption.
Updating the Secret Key
To ensure that there are no delays in issuing rewards, follow these steps to update the secret as soon as you receive it:
1. Access Love2Shop on Mention Me
- Log in to the Mention Me platform
- Click View next to your Love2Shop Reward Provider.
2. Set a New Secret
- In the Client Secret section, click the padlock icon to set a new secret.
3. Retrieve and Copy the New Secret
- Open the link from your Love2Shop email to access the new secret. This link can only be accessed once.
- If the link has expired or needs to be refreshed, contact the Love2Shop API Team at APITeam@love2shop.co.uk.
4. Update the Secret in Mention Me
- Paste the new secret into the Client Secret box.
- Ensure all other settings remain unchanged, then press Save changes.
5. Repeat as Necessary
- Repeat these steps for each Mention Me account connected to Love2Shop for voucher issuance.
