There may be occasions where you will see an error on Audience Builder related to your Meta / Facebook Authentication needing to be re-authenticated
“Your Meta authentication has expired and you need to re-authenticate the integration”
Why does this happen?
-
Your access token has expired: Meta only allows Mention Me to have access to your Meta account for 60 days at a time. Therefore, you will need to re-authorise Mention Me access to your account in order for Audience Builder to keep on syncing.
-
You have changed your Meta Password: If you have recently changed your Meta password, you will be required to re-authenticate yourself so that Audience Builder can continue to sync your audiences.
- The user who set up the connection through their Meta account no longer has access to your Meta Business Manager account: This can happen if an employee of yours leaves the business and their access is revoked from your systems.
How do I fix this?
Mention Me will send you an email 10 days and 5 days before your Authentication is going to expire and also when it has expired. You can click on the Re-Authorise link directly in the email to re-authenticate
Alternatively, you can re-authenticate manually by following these simple steps:
-
Login to the Mention Me Platform
-
Go to Connections Hub -> Audience Builder
-
Select the Re-Authenticate link under the Audience name or in the Notification at the top of the page
-
You will then be taken to a re-authentication screen where you will be shown the Authentication that needs to be re-authorised (it will be presented in Edit mode)
-
Leave the authentication name as is and click “Save”
- This will trigger a Meta/Facebook authentication popup that allows you to re-enter your Facebook/Meta login details and re-authorise Mention Me
- Note: Any re-authorisations can take up to 1 hour to be reflected properly on the Audience Builder pages
