Overview

This guide will show you how you can test the Mention Me Tactics in Emarsys to see that all the ESL variables and customer properties show correctly before setting the Tactics live.

The guide will show you how to test the following Tactics:

Referee / Referrer Coupon Reminder and Reminder to Share Again

You can test email based on a recent event to your email address to show that the ESL variables are showing correctly.

The steps below work for both the Referee/ Referrer Coupon Reminder and the Reminder to Share Again Tactics

Pe-requisites to begin testing

Your email address needs to be in Emarsys as an existing contact for the test to work.
The email campaigns for the different channel nodes in each Automation need to be Active before you can begin to test

Testing Steps

Open Referee Coupon Reminder / Referrer Coupon Reminder or the Reminder to Share Again Tactic in Emarsys
Set the Status to Test
Configure the test node settings as follows:
- Select the Only Test Contacts, Sent Manually option.
- Skip the Wait Nodes
- Ignore the Wait Events and select down "No" Path
- Ignore the Participation Events and select down "No" Path
Click Send Event
Enter your email address as the test email and select Next
1. A recent event will be shown and it will be used to populate the email with the correct ESL and contact properties
2. The relevant Test Event type will automatically show based on the Automation being tested
3. The email will only be sent to the email address that is used as the test contact
Review the Send Event and press Send Event
1. This will now send you a test email with the data populated and all the wait times will be ignored
Once you have received your test email, and you are ready to activate, just change the Status to Activate
