About this guide
This guide is designed to provide instructions for you to provide Emarsys API credentials if you have requested to enable the checking of customers' opt-in status before showing a newsletter sign-up overlay.
This guide does not deal with the setup of the full Emarsys integration. That can be done by following these instructions.
Prerequisites
- Emarsys: You will need the ability to create private API Users for use with the Mention Me integration.
- Mention Me: You will need access to the Mention Me platform. If you do not have access, reach out to your Mention Me CSM or submit a support request.
Step 1 – Provide Emarsys API Key and Secret
1. Log in to Emarsys as the Account Owner.
2. Go to Management > Security Settings > API.
3. Create your API Username and API Secret Key.
If you have multiple Emarsys Accounts, please create an API Username and Secret Key for each account.
4. Save these credentials as plain text or in a PDF file (so you can upload them to Mention Me).
5. Click the edit button to update the API User Permissions and only enable the following for the newly created API User(s):

Step 2 – Send the Account ID, API key and secret securely to Mention Me
1. Login to the Mention Me platform.
2. Navigate to the Secure file transfer option under the Settings & Tools tab.
3. Click Upload secure file, then upload the PDF file containing your API key and secret to the secure area.
4. Email your Mention Me Client Success Manager to let them know you’ve uploaded this information.
