About the Mention Me integration

Activate your biggest fans by feeding first-party advocacy data directly into your core marketing automation platform to deliver higher engagement, retention and revenue across your customer base.

Our integration lets you

• Send contact data and opt-ins from Mention Me referred customers to Emarsys in real-time
• Use referral data to create coupon email reminders
• Enhance the performance of other marketing channels by using referral and advocacy data to segment and target high-value customers

Prerequisites

• Emarsys - You would need to have the ability to create private API Users to use for the setup of the Mention Me integration
  
  
• Mention Me - You will need access to the Mention Me platform (If you do not have access, reach out to your Mention Me CSM or request a support request here)

Step 1 – Create an API user and secret for Mention Me

• Log in to Emarsys as the Account Owner
• Click Management > Security Settings > API

• Create your API Username and API Secret Key
• Note: If you have multiple Emarsys Accounts, please create an API Username and Secret Key for each account
  
  

• Save these credentials so you can use them later in Step 2
  
  
• Click the edit button to update the API User Permissions and only enable the following for the newly created API User(s):

You must set up these permissions to implement and run the Mention Me and Emarsys integration.

Step 2. Set up the integration in Mention Me

Now, complete the following procedure to set up the integration in Mention Me:

1. On the Mention Me platform, and Click Connect
   
   
   
   
2. Agree to the Terms and Conditions to allow Mention Me to transfer data to Emarsys on your behalf (If applicable. If you have already done this, then this will be skipped).
   
   
3. Click New authentication
   
   
   
   
4. Name your Authentication. If you have multiple Emarsys Accounts, name the Authentication for the specific Account so that you can recognise it easily. Or you can leave the default
   
   
5. Enter the following information, which you collected in Step 1 
   • API Key (user)
   • API Secret
     
     
6. Enter the following in the Base URL: api.emarsys.net
   
   
7. Press Create
   
   
   
   
8. Select the country(s) you want to sync to your Emarsys account 
   
   
   
   

   Top Tip: Depending on which countries you use Emarsys in, you can select to only send data from from specific Mention Me enabled countries

   
   Only countries where you have an active referral campaign running are shown

   
   
9. Click Connect to finalise the setup and the custom properties and events will automatically created in Emarsys
   
   
10. A message will be shown confirming that the integration has been successfully completed.
    

    
    
    

    From this point, Mention Me events and contacts will start syncing to your Emarsys account and you can start to use Mention Me data in Emarsys Tactics and segmentation.

11. Multiple Account Setup (optional)

    If you would like to integrate to another Emarsys account (i.e. if you have a separate account for the UK or US), click Connect Another Account and repeat the above steps.
