What Mention Me data is sent to mParticle

About the Mention Me mParticle integration

The Mention Me integration with mParticle will enable you to receive your referral and advocacy-related events into your mParticle CDP in real time.

Our integration lets you:

• Grow your marketing database. Send opt-ins / contacts in real-time to mParticle

• Easily activate Mention Me data across various downstream systems and marketing tools integrated with mParticle, such as email marketing platforms, ad networks, and CRM systems

• Enhance the performance of other marketing channels by using referral data to segment and target high-value customers

As part of the setup of the mParticle integration, Mention Me will automatically create the Customer attributes and the Custom Events needed. Therefore, you don't need to do this before the integration is enabled. 

The events and custom attributes associated with the customer in mParticle are based on their email address

Mention Me will send event and contact profile attributes for any prospect / existing customer (irrespective of the opt-in status you hold for them) that has triggered an event via Mention Me.

This is because they could have opted in via another channel and Mention Me does not know about that.

So, when we send the contact data to mParticle we will apply the folllowing...

• If a customer already exists in mParticle...
  • Append their customer profile with Mention Me specific attributes
  • Add Mention Me associated events to their profile
• If a customer does not exist in mParticle...
  • Create the contact profile (with their email address as their ID)
  • Append their customer profile with Mention Me specific attributes
  • Add Mention Me associated events to their profile
  • Add a consent purpose (only if explicitly captured via specific Mention Me journeys)

With the Mention Me integration, data is sent to mParticle as the following:
