This guide will show you how to delete customers' data from the MentionMe platform
This can be done in 1three different ways:
Manual, individual account deletion
1. Go to the Customers section in the platform
2. Search for the customer by either their name, email or customer ID then click on the customer’s link to open their account
3. Go to Actions and click on 'Purge'

Manual bulk deletion (via uploading a CSV file):
1. Go to Settings and 'Upload tags' or simply search for 'Upload tags' and select the first option:
2. Choose 'Purge' in the drop-down list:
3. Drag and drop or select your file to upload:
(Mandatory and optional fields can be matched to the CSV file headers when uploading the file)
When uploading data via this form, we’re only using one mandatory field - Customer Email.

Please ensure that your form is saved in a .csv format.
4. Mapping fields also triggers the first stage of validation, so if your data format is incorrect, it should be indicated straight away by a red error text.
The tool will try to validate the first ~100 rows on the front end and show you any errors with the file, i.e. invalid email. If you decide to proceed, the other rows' validation will be done on the backend, and the process will altogether skip any row that has an issue.
5. When all the fields are mapped and there are no validation errors, you’re ready to start processing the upload. Please click the Upload button to start the process.
Once the process finishes, you will be able to see how many rows that have failed to be uploaded along with the total rows processed in the confirmation popup. The valid rows would then be pushed to the Tag queue, waiting to be processed.
How to automate account deletion using SFTP:
You can now provide us with a CSV via our SFTP server to delete customers. We will permanently delete these customers automatically without you needing to contact us, reducing the manual work for you and your team. You can provide files to us as frequently/infrequently as you wish.
If you have SFTP already setup:
To set this up you'd need to send us another SFTP file, with the format laid out in your integration instructions.
