How influencer recommendations work
Our platform identifies influencers from your existing customer base. This approach ensures authenticity in recommendations by recognising who already genuinely loves your product.
Shortly after onboarding, you’ll see influencers in the Influencer Discovery section. Suggested influencers — those we recommend you reach out to — are listed under the Suggested tab.
Why influencer vetting matters
Not everyone who purchases your product is the right fit to become an influencer. To address this, Mention Me runs an automated vetting process to assess whether an outreach email is worthwhile.
How influencer suitability is assessed
The vetting process uses three main categories of data:

Brand profile: This is AI-generated during onboarding and can be reviewed any time in the Influencer settings. The brand profile includes:
- Brand purpose
- Core values
- Tone of voice
- Visual identity
- Product categories and range

Exclusion criteria: Set during onboarding and can be tailored for your brand. These may include:
- Political, social, or ethical sensitivities
- High-risk content themes
- Profile type misalignment
- Content themes and visual style

Influencer profile: Includes key factors such as:
- Influencer handle
- Bio location
- Follower count
- Engagement rate
- Hashtags
- Audience locations
- Popular and recent content
Programme-level suitability conditions
You can set further filters at the programme level to tailor influencer selection. These include:
- Age range
- Minimum follower count
- Minimum engagement rate
- Activity (influencers must be active within the last 180 days, by default)
- Location (by country)
- Language
How the scoring and suggestions work
We weigh these different data points to assess each influencer’s suitability. The Suggested tab displays influencers ranked by their alignment with your brand’s preferences and content fit.
You can see more details about a suggested influencer's fit by hovering over the fit label. Influencers who are also existing customers receive special consideration.
Managing exclusions and disqualified influencers
Any influencer who fails to meet your set exclusion criteria is automatically disqualified and will not be suggested. You can review all disqualified profiles in the Disqualified tab in the platform.
