Mention Me can automatically send your customers' Extended Customer Revenue (ECR) data to your Emarsys account. ECR is only calculated for customers who have made a successful referral.
This data is sent on a weekly basis and only for customers whose ECR has changed from the previous week.
This guide will help you import ECR data one time prior to beginning the weekly updates from Mention Me to Emarsys.
Steps to Import ECR Data
- Download ECR Data from the Mention Me Platform
- Create a CSV file for Emarsys
- Upload your CSV file to Emarsys
Download ECR Data from Mention Me
To begin, download the ECR data from Mention Me:
1. Log in to the Mention Me Platform and go to the Customer Revenue page in the Advocacy Intelligence section.
2. Click Download customer segments (If not visible, contact your CSM).
3. Select all segments and click Generate.
4. This will generate a CSV file of ECR segments. It may take up to 15 minutes. You’ll receive an email notification when it's ready.
5. Click the link in the email to download (login required). You can also find the file under Settings → Secure file transfer.
Create a CSV file for Emarsys
Next, you’ll format the CSV file so Emarsys can import it.
- Open the file using Excel, Google Sheets, or similar tool.
- Remove the first 3 rows (keep headers only).
- Delete these columns:
- Individual Revenue
- Revenue Referred
- Friends ECR Value
- Report Currency Code
- First Name
- Surname
Then rename columns as follows:
- Email address → Email
- Activity Status → Mention Me ECR Activity
- ECR Segment → Mention Me ECR Status
Please ensure column names are an exact match (case-sensitive), or duplicates may be created in Emarsys.
Move the Email column to the first position. Your final file should resemble:
Save your final CSV file.
Upload your CSV file to Emarsys
1. Go to Contacts → Data Import in Emarsys
2. Click Import File
3. Click Import file manually
4. Click Select a file and upload your formatted CSV.
5. On the Settings screen, configure the following:
- Unique Identifier = Email
- Opt-in declarations = Status not defined
6. Click Show Advanced Settings → Select Update only
7. No need to match columns — Mention Me fields are already created during integration.
8. Click Next step
9. Click Next step again.
10. Name the import ECR Import, click Start Import.
11. Import complete! Mention Me ECR segment and activity will now be available in Emarsys.
