The Mention Me Shopify App allows you to install the Mention Me experience directly into your Shopify store.
Introduction
The Mention Me Shopify app requires a custom URL unique to your store setup. To get started, please contact our support team, and we will provide you with the app installation link.
After installing the app on your store, a short configuration process is required.
Setup should take fewer than 5 minutes, with no technical experience needed.
Installing the App
After clicking your unique install link, Mention Me will be installed on your Shopify store.
Once installed, configure the following:
- Your Partner Code
- Store Type — choose "Test" or "Production"
All other settings can remain at their defaults, though we recommend reviewing our guide for setting up imagery.
Click Save when complete, and then proceed with checkout customisation.
If you're only using Mention Me Influencer, you can stop here. You're now setup and ready to go! If you're using Mention Me Referral please continue.
Configuring Your Shopify Checkout
There are three locations within the checkout where you can add Mention Me:
- Checkout — for the “Been referred by a friend?” experience
- Thank You — post-purchase confirmation page
- Order Status — for returns and tracking
1. Open Checkout Editor
In Shopify Admin:
- Go to Settings → Checkout
Click Customise to open the checkout editor interface.
2. Add to Checkout Page
The Checkout page is the first screen users see during purchase.
Look for the Order Summary section and click Add block. Choose: Mention Me Checkout Journey
Be sure to tick Include block in Shop Pay — even if you're not using Shop Pay yet.
The Mention Me field will now appear under your discount box:
If using one-page checkout, you may see the Mention Me prompt appear in both discount fields. This is expected.
3. Add to Thank You Page
Use the page selector in the checkout editor to switch to the "Thank You" page.
A. Add Announcement Block
Click Add block in the Announcement bar section. Then, choose Mention Me Refer a Friend Journey.
B. Add Main Content Block
Add another block inside the Main section:
Again, choose Mention Me Refer a Friend Journey.
Tip: Place this block high and on the left. Right-side placement won't show on mobile.
4. Add to Order Status Page
Repeat the same process for the Order Status page. Use the selector and switch to that view.
A. Add Announcement
Under Announcement bar, click Add block and select the Mention Me Refer a Friend Journey block:
B. Add Main Block
Add a block under the Main section:
Choose Mention Me Refer a Friend Journey again:
If the blocks don’t appear immediately, ensure the app is active and region visibility is enabled in your Mention Me platform settings.
You're all set! Your Mention Me App Blocks are now integrated across your Shopify checkout flow.
