Imagery for the Shopify App has a few differences to how you'd normally configure images in Mention Me. This article will explain how to configure the images.
Referee Journey
The Referee Journey (also known as the "Been referred by a friend?" journey) shows an image in the modal users see in your Checkout.
An example of the imagery shown is below:
The image for this part of the journey is controlled from within Shopify, within the Mention Me app configuration.
There is one image which is shared across all languages/locales for your store. If you have multiple stores, you can have a different image for each store.
You can change this image from within the Mention Me Shopify App.
Follow the following steps:
- Open the "Mention Me" app in your Shopify store
- Scroll to the section named "Referee experience":
- Here you can and add or replace your image.
- Save your image with the Save button at the top.
We recommend an image sized 1200px x 300px. Shopify will dynamically size the image based on mobile or desktop size.
Referrer journey
The Shopify Referrer Journey is used to promote Referral in your Thank You and Order Status pages after a customer has purchased.
Here's an example image from a Shopify post purchase page:
The image we will choose is based on the Offer we're presenting to a customer. This means you can customise the image per Offer, and you can A/B test the imagery.
To change the image, you can use the image management tools within Mention Me. If you're new to image management, you may wish to review our general image management guide first.
Warning: The Mention Me Shopify App uses the "EntryPoint API" to serve your offer. The image is shared across all your uses of the API, which may include e.g. in-app referral promotion. If you use the EntryPoint API for any other referral promotions, be careful that changing the image here will affect both Shopify and the EntryPoint API. If you're unsure, let us know and we can confirm.
To change the image:
- The image is controlled via the Offer Preview and the "Offer in Shopify" section. Find the "Shopify Offer" section in your preview.
Can't see the "Shopify Offer" section? Let us know at support@mention-me.com. We'll make sure it's enabled for you. - Click "Manage images"
- Use the UI to add or change your image. You'll be editing the "EntryPoint API" image. This is how Mention Me serves the image to Shopify.
Here's an example of changing the image:
Shopify will automatically size the image based on mobile or desktop use. We recommend dimensions with a 3:2 aspect ratio, e.g. 1500px by 1000px.
