This guide will walk you through installing the Mention Me theme app extension. By the end, you’ll have a Share button live on your Shopify product pages so your customers can easily recommend products to each other.
Installing the App
After visiting the Mention Me App in Shopify, you can click on the Install button to get started. This may prompt you to log in to your Shopify store. After logging in, you will get the following permission screen.
- Follow the instructions to install the Product sharing link.
- This should take you to your product page editor.
- Select the placement for the sharing link and click on +.
- Select Share Product from the App section of the block selector.
- Configure options on the right hand sidebar if needed.
Options
- Product: This is the current product on the page. It should be autofilled, so you don’t need to change it.
- Show text: Choose whether to display just an icon or include text as well.
- Text: The text that appears on the Share link.
- Colour: Set the colour of the text and icon.
- Font size: Set the size of the text.
You Are All Set!
Once you’ve done this, the Share Link will be live and Mention Me will start tracking product shares. You can view the data we have collected on the dashboard.
Click on Go to app dashboard at the bottom of the page to see your data!
