When using Mention Me with Shopify, image configuration differs slightly from standard Mention Me setups. This guide will walk you through how to manage images for both Referee and Referrer journeys on your Shopify store.
Referee Journey Image (Shown in Checkout Modal)
This image appears when a new customer clicks "Been referred by a friend?" during checkout.
Key Points
- This image is set directly in the Mention Me Shopify App
- It is shared across all languages/locales for a single Shopify store
- Different images can be set if you have multiple Shopify stores
- Recommended dimensions: 1200px × 300px (automatically responsive)
How to Update the Image
1. Open the Mention Me app in your Shopify admin
2. Scroll to the section labelled “Referee Experience”
3. Add or replace the image as needed
4. Click Save at the top of the page
Referrer Journey Image (Shown on Thank You & Order Status Pages)
This image is part of the post-purchase referral experience displayed to customers who’ve just completed an order.
Key Points
- This image is linked to each referral offer
- You can customise this image per offer and A/B test variations
- Images are rendered using Mention Me’s EntryPoint API
- Ensure that image changes are consistent across all platforms using EntryPoint (e.g., in-app, email)
Recommended dimensions: 1500px × 1000px (3:2 aspect ratio)
How to Change the Position of the Image
The image in the Referrer Journey can be placed in one of four positions:
- Above the content
- Above the information notice
- Above the CTA (below the information notice)
- Below the CTA
1. Visit your Shopify Checkout and navigate to the Thank You page
2. Select the Mention Me Refer a Friend block
3. Select the desired image position
4. Repeat for the Order Status page
How to Update the Referrer Image
1. Go to Mention Me → Campaigns → Select the relevant Offer
2. In Offer Preview, scroll to find the “Shopify Offer” section
3. Don’t see this section? Contact support@mention-me.com
4. Click Manage Images
5. Use the Image Manager to upload or replace images served via the EntryPoint API
