This guide shows you how to check the referral status of a customer in the Mention Me platform.
You’ll learn how to:
- Locate a customer (Referee).
- Review their activity timeline.
- Confirm purchase status.
- Handle approval for rewards or suspected gaming.
By the end, you’ll be able to accurately assess referral progress and take appropriate follow-up actions.
Steps to Check Referral Status
1. Access the Customers Section
Navigate to the Customers tab in the platform.
2. Find the New Customer (Referee)
Use their name, email, customer ID, or share link to search. Once found, click the customer’s profile to open their account.
3. Review Key Areas in Their Profile
a) Activity Timeline:
View the customer’s actions in chronological order—oldest to most recent. This includes shared offers, referral enrolments, and whether rewards have been issued or not.
b) Confirm a purchase
Use the Actions menu to confirm whether the customer has completed a qualifying purchase.
If you see the "Confirm purchase" button, Mention Me has not detected a purchase.
This may happen if the purchase email differs from the share/sign-up email.
If you're confident the email is correct, it could be a data mismatch. Contact the Tech Ops team to investigate further.
c) Approvals
There are two common approval prompts:
-
Reward Approval: Normally handled automatically. You can manually approve within the Rewards tab if necessary.

Gaming Suspicions: Always requires manual approval. This happens if the system detects unusual or suspicious activity. Review the denial reason carefully to decide whether to approve. (More info here.)

4. Can’t Find the Customer?
If the customer doesn’t appear in your search:
- Manually add the customer to the platform.
- Then link their friend (referrer) to their account.
