Customising your referral share links to redirect to your website is a powerful way to deliver a seamless, branded experience for referees. This short guide walks you through the two key steps needed to set up and optimise this functionality.
By default, Mention Me share links direct referees to a Mention Me-hosted page. Enabling self-hosted functionality allows you to deliver the referee experience directly on your own site.
You’ll learn how to:
- Embed the Mention Me Referee Tag on your landing page to personalise and track journeys
- Work with your Client Success Manager to enable share link integration and assign custom URLs
This gives you greater control, drives higher engagement, and ensures a smooth, on-brand experience for referred customers.
Step 1: Set Up a Referee Tag on Your Landing Page
First, create a dedicated landing page for referee traffic. This page will display the referee journey driven by Mention Me.
Important: The landing page should not contain details about the offer. Mention Me will automatically add personalised messaging and content.
On the landing page, embed the Mention Me Referee Tag using the following attribute:
implementation=embed
Instructions for implementation can be found in our integration guide: Integration Guide: Referee Tag Embed
Step 2: Enable Referee Share Link Implementation
Once your landing page is live, inform our Support or Client Success team. They will update your account settings so that referral links point to your chosen landing page URL.
This automatically redirects referred customers (referees) to your branded experience, instead of the default Mention Me-hosted page.
