This guide provides a straightforward process for confirming customer referral purchases on Mention Me, ensuring that both new and existing customers receive their rewards accurately. By following the steps outlined, users can efficiently navigate the platform to verify eligibility for purchases, even when they initially appear ineligible.
Confirming a purchase ensures a reward is sent to the referrer. If the Offer has an "after purchase" reward, the referee will be given a reward too.
This process happens automatically for the majority of customers.
However, if a customer signs up as a referee with a different email to their purchase, manual confirmation might be needed.
For instance, if Customer A refers Customer B, and Customer B uses different emails for registration and purchase, the platform can't recognise the successful referral.
Integration issues can also lead to this problem. If you frequently encounter this issue, make sure that your integration is correctly sending us all customer orders with the accurate email information.
Steps:
1. Navigate to https://mention-me.com/merchant/
2. Click "Customers"
To perform this action, you must search for the New (referee) customer information.
3. Enter the new customer details into the "You can find a customer by email address, name, customer ID or share link." field.
4. Click on your customer's details to open up their account.
5. Click "Actions"
6. Click "Confirm purchase"
You could be shown two options on how to proceed.
7. Option 1: the customer has made a purchase which we didn't consider eligible because it was under the set minimum spend. However, we want to ensure both parties get their reward anyway. Here we should confirm the value purchase as being eligible.
8. Option 2: the customer was introduced as part of a promotion, we'll also show whether confirming the purchase will satisfy the promotion.
9. When you have chosen how to proceed, click "Confirm new purchase"
10. Refresh the customer's page and click on the existing customer account in order to see if the connection has been successful.
11. You'll be able to see on their Activity timeline that the referral has been successfully linked.
12. Under Rewards, you can also see that the code was issued to the existing customer. Users with Customer Support Supervisor access or higher can click "Reveal" and see the code that has been issued.
