Why did you get this email asking for new rewards?
We need more vouchers for three main reasons:
- Running out: The primary reason is that we're either out of vouchers or about to be!
- Expired or short validity: Some existing codes have expired or don't have enough time left to remain valid.
- Multi-Use Vouchers: These can create issues due to potential fraud or running out of codes.
Reason 1: Running out: This means we've nearly used up the previous batch of vouchers provided.
Reason 2: Expired or short validity: Vouchers might have expiration dates set by clients.
There are two types of expiry:
Simple: Vouchers often have a specific end date in the client's system. For example, a voucher named SUMMER15 might work only until August 31st. After this date, the voucher becomes invalid.
For referral vouchers, a client might provide codes that work for one year. While they don't have to include an expiry, if they do, it's crucial for us to know the end date. Otherwise, customers might face disappointment if codes suddenly stop working.
Complex Scenario: Mention Me provides vouchers to customers with a commitment that the voucher remains valid until a specific date. Usually, new customer rewards (referees) have a shorter duration, often around 7-14 days. However, for existing customer rewards (referrers), the validity can stretch from several months to even years.
Code validity doesn't affect active offer durations but specifies how long a code stays valid in our system for distribution.
- If today is January 1st 2023, and the vouchers are promised to last for 6 months but the end of their validity period is set to December 31st, 2023, we cannot distribute these vouchers after July 1st, 2023. This limitation is because July 1st, 2023, plus 6 months will extend beyond January 1st, 2024, when the vouchers become invalid.
Client A should generate vouchers with ample remaining validity so that we can keep distributing the vouchers for as long as needed. Although we can extend the expiry, it's simpler if you initially provide codes with longer validity.
- Amazon vouchers stay valid for 10 years. Clients can also choose to make their vouchers last for 10 years or even longer if their systems permit such extended validity.
This ensures you won't need to be contacted frequently for new vouchers. This approach aims to safeguard your business by preventing customers from receiving vouchers too close to their expiration date.

Here are the steps to find the validity periods:
1. Access the Campaigns section on the platform.
2. Select one of your active campaigns (each campaign might have different validity periods).
3. Click on the Live experiment.
4. Tap on the offer options (three dots) and select View details.
5. Navigate to VALIDITY PERIODS and check (Time period the referrer's reward is valid for once received) & (Time period the referee's reward is valid for once received).
Reason 3: Multi-Use Vouchers
We usually advise against using multi-use codes if it's avoidable.
Multi-use vouchers can pose two main issues:
- Risk of gaming and fraud: If a voucher-like "SUPERSALE15" is shared between friends, it can lead to the client providing discounts to individuals who weren't genuinely referred.
- Potential voucher depletion: If a code can only be given to one person, we might run out of vouchers, limiting the rewards for individuals who legitimately refer more friends.
- For instance, imagine Client A offers 5 multi-use vouchers. Each code can be used once per individual email address. This allows an individual to receive up to 5 rewards. If they refer 5 friends, they get the intended experience. However, if they refer more friends, we can't reward them without extra vouchers.
Therefore, if you, as a client, intend to use multi-use vouchers, we highly suggest providing a minimum of 15-20 individual vouchers.
